Bibichini Shahi masjid was built at middle Sultane
period in the 15th century the time of Ahmad Shah, Jalal al-Din's son.
Bibichini Shahi masjid is located at betagi in Bargun District. Shaw
Neyamata was constructed this mosques in 1659. The village and the
mosque named after the name of his daughter hayache bibicini. This
Mosques is Thirty Three feet in length, width of Thirty Three feet, the walls Six feet wide. There are 3 grave beside mosque. The building are all constructed of brick.

two hundred year old's Collect-orate building was the District
administrator's office of Barisal . Department of Archaeology of
Bangladesh is changing this Building into Museum. The building is a
still photo of Barisal heritage and culture.
More information:
The
government on April 1, 2004 declared Barisal Collectorate Building as a
national heritage and the Ministry of Cultural Affairs asked the
Barisal district administration and Public Works Department to hand over
the building to the Department of Archaeology.
About the museum:
This museum
is under construction now. It was open in June 2008. Project Officer
Shihab Uddin said, adding that valuable antiques, including canons of
Sultani period, fingerprint of Queen Noorjahan, sword of Sirajuddowla,
would be displayed here.Different types of statues and coins, survey
maps and manuscripts, mementos of Sher-e-Bangla A.K. Fazlul Huq, Aswini
Kumar Dutta, poet Jibanananda Das and poet Mukunda Das have also been
listed for display here, he added.

aman jame-masjid or Guthia mosque is a famous mosque in Barisal. It is
also on of the most beautiful mosque in Bangladesh. Mr. S. Sharfuddin
Ahmed Santustablish established this mosque in 16 Dec 2003. He spent 10
millions dollers build this Guthia masjid. It's designs are taken from
Europe, Asia, and Middle East's most famous mosque. In this masjid,
there is lots of expensive marble stone on the wall. Which is bring
from Egypt (Misr). Beside the mosque, there is a madrasa , joined by
walkway. The masjid area is park-like with flower garden, shrubs, fruit
tree, park-like etc. In the mosque area there are also several ponds
and canals.

(Govt. School) was founded in 1854, but the school was not large enough
to serve the speedily increasing numbers of students. To solve the
problem, Mahatma Ashwini Kumar Dutta built a new school in 1884. But
there was no enough facility of higher education. For that Ramesh
Chandra Dutta the district magistrate at that time, requested Mahatma
Ashwini Kumar Dutta to establish a college .As a result Aswini Kumar
Dutta established Brojo Mohan College (BM College) 14th June in 1889.

Kamal better known as Shaheed Sepoy Mostafa Kamal was a sepoy in the
Bangladesh Army during the Liberation War. Mostafa Kamal was a well
known boxer. A Memorial Museum of Bir Shrestho Mostofa kamal is situated
at his home district Bhola name Bir Shrestho Mostofa kamal Memorial

Biography:
Mostofa Kamal's father was a Habildar in the Pakistan army. On sixteenth
Dec. 1967, Kamal escaped from his home and joined the EBR. Bangladesh
Liberation War started in 1971, EBR had taken the control of
Brahmanbaria with three Defense bases at Aashuganj, Ujanishwar and
Anderson lake.For Pakistani army's continued attacking with EBR
retreated back to Aakhaura, Shangi Nagar and Daruin. Second Platoon was
sent to Daruin to reinforce the troops. Mostafa Kamal was a soldier of
this platoon. Mostofa Kamal sacrifice his life for his country at
Daruin on 18 April 1971 during a battle against the Pakistan. Army.

Portuguese pirates used to take shelter in the Monpura island. When
the Portugueses were left the island, people from Bhola, Laxmipur and

India. In 1800, the rebellious salt-producers attacked the head office
of the Greek businessman Demotirus in South Shahbajpur and killed his employee Paliolgas. three hundred fourteen salt-producers were carrested at the order of District Magistrate Middleton. For that three hundred fifty salt-producers of this Island went elsewhere in 1818.

The
river Dhansiri is the dream river for the poet of nature Jibonando Das.
Standing here he made "Abar asibi fire Dhansiritir tire ei banglai" (i
will come back beside this river Dhansiri in this Bangla). His father's
name Sottanondo Das and mothers name Kusum Kumari Das. His nick name is
Mil. His old residence is Gougara, Bikrompur. But his birth place is
Barisal's Notun Bajar. He took birth in 17th feb, in 1899. The river
Dhansiri is at Rajapur subdistrict in present Jhalokati. In time of the
rule of british, steamer went from one place to another among
Barisal-Jhalakathi-Rajapur-Saturia-Coukhali-Pirojpur-Khulna-Kolkata.
There is paddy field in both sides of the river. Beside the bank of the
river there was his uncles(mother's brother) house at Bamankathi
village. The poet used to came in uncle's house with his parents in his
childhood. He used to live in Barisal with his parents but his uncle's
house is his favourite place. He enjoyed the beautiful natural scenery
of the river Dhansiri.

Km south of Dhaka capital of Bangladesh and about 70 Km from the
district Patuakhali. The Kuakata sea beach is 30 kilometer long and 6
kilometerm wide.

History
Kuakata
came from the Bengali language 'Kua' which means “Well” . It was made
on the sea side by the Rakhine settlers for gathering fresh water.
Rakhine settlers came here at 18th century after being banished from
Arakan now this is Myanmar by the Mughals. Later on, it has become a
heritage of digging Well or 'Kua' in the Rakhaine tribes for fresh
drinking water.

Beauty of Kuakata
Kuakata
has another name is "Shagor Kannya" known as Locally Which means
"Daughter of the Sea". This area is also a shelter for migratory winter
birds. Once upon a time Kuakata was the part of Sundarbans
when the settlers came here. Eastern corner of the beach is Gongamati
Reserved Forest, an evergreen mangrove forest. You can go to the forest
by foot or bike through the beach. It is the places of pilgrimage for
both Hindu and Buddhist people. 'Rush Purnima' and 'Maghi Purnima' on
these two days the Hindu and Buddhist people take holy bath at the bay
of bangle at kuakata. In this time there held a fair. You can also
visit 100 years old Buddhist Temple and two wells of 200 years old.
Fisher man village is another places for visit. By managed the fisher
man you can go for fishing if you are adventure lover. In this village
you will watch the seen that the fisher man come back after fishing. You
can also also buy some fish from the fisher man.

The government
and local business man have made many developments over the years to
attract traveler in kuakata. There are many Parjatan Motel hotel in
Kuakata. And communication system is well. The best way to reach Kuakata
from Dhaka is to first travel to Barisal by road, water, or air, and
then to take the bus or boat/launch for the destination. The Bangladesh
Road Transport Corporation introduced a direct bus service from Dhaka to
Kuakata via Barisal. So enjoy your travel.@

Pronob Moth Sheba-ashram is situated in Veemkathi village. Near
Kali-ganga river of Najirpur subdistrict. It was the native area of
Sharat Chandra Mitra, who lived in Dhalhara village of Barisal. He
established a dispensary in Sriramkathi and settled their as a doctor.
In Hindus, he was prominent by the name Srim Swami Pronban-nandaji. The
Sriramkathi Pronob moth is established on 1 acre of land.

Almost 200 years ago when English Edward
Mr. Pery Caspar came to Mothbaria subdistrict of Pirojpur, the Rich
Forazullah donate him fourteen bighas of land where Kuthibari was
established. They used to arrange Punnah at the end of poush (Bengali
month) every year. At the time of India deviation in 1947, the British
ruler left Kuthirbari. Before leaving Mr. Casper named a village of
Shap-Leja according the name of his father Mr. Shilar.

Pirojpur district 100 years old famous Momin Mosque is located in front
of the prominent Akon house which is 200 years old, Momin Mosque
located at the Northern end of Mothbaria subdistrict. It is designed
with specialized wooden art work which was a new trend of Endo-Paris and
Europeon. For this Cultural Ministry has declared and listed it as a
“Preserved Ancient Property” in 17 April, 2003.

About
350 years ago there established a Landlord family. The landlord house
known as Rayerkati Zamindarbari is situated in three km. north from the
Pirojpur main town. Perliaement, ball-room, guest house and many hindu
temples were built there. There were almost 200 palaces. From which
about 40-50 were the largest. At 1658 Kaali (Hindu God) mandir or
temples were established here. The biggest Shiva Linga is also located
here. Which weight is almost about thousend kilogram.s.
