Mirsarai Tragedy – 41 school students died
This
is a big tragedy for Bangladesh. Bangladeshis are shocked, tears in our
eyes. 41 school students died in a tragic road accident at Mirsarai,
Chittagong. Most of them are 13 to 16 years old and students of Abu
Torab High School. All the educational institutions of Bangladesh will
mourn on Wednesday. All the students, teachers will wear black badges.
They came to see a football match at Mirsarai stadium. They were
returning to their school by a mini truck. After crossing a bridge, the
driver lost control of the vehicle and fall into a roadside pond at the
connecting road between Bara Takia and Abu Torab Bazaar, only one and a
half kilometres away from the school. There were about 65 people on that
track and 44 died of them. 41 were students.
Some saved students of that accident said, driver Mofiz Uddin was
talking by his mobile phone at that time. Actually he is not a driver;
he is the helper of the main driver. Even he had no driving license.
Mofiz is not arrested still now.
